Our 2022 Youth Policy Advances report reminds us that true youth justice requires a definitive move away from carceral responses and toward the creation of ecosystems where young people have the resources they need to realize their full potential. Further, our movement is an affirmation of the dignity of Black, Brown and Indigenous youth and it demands centering the voices of young and impacted leaders most historically harmed by the systems we are working to transform.
As we take a look at our youth justice wins from 2022, let us remember why we show up for this work - to create a new vision of youth justice and reimagine what it means to live in community with one another.
