Justice Policy Institute: Employment Increases Public Safety

The Justice Policy Institute, an NJJN partner, recently released “Working for a Better Future: How expanding employment opportunities for D.C’s youth creates public safety benefits for all residents.” In the report, JPI finds that lower youth unemployment correlates with lower referrals to the juvenile courtand encourages the use of employment programs as a preventative strategy.
