Tell Congress to Approve the Proposed Budget for Youth Justice! President Biden's proposed budget would allocate $796 million towards youth justice, including $100 million towards closing facilities. States need these funds to improve justice approaches, protect youth and promote safe communities. Congress reauthorized the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) in 2018, and must now ensure full funding so that states have the capacity to successfully implement the law and provide services to young people that can divert them away from the justice system.
