Organization Profile

Citizens for Juvenile Justice (CfJJ) is an independent, non-profit, statewide organization working exclusively to improve the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts. CfJJ advocates for a fair and effective juvenile justice system in Massachusetts, designed to promote the healthy development of children and youth so they can grow up to live as responsible and productive adults in our communities.

CfJJ, convenes, conducts research, and educates the public on important juvenile justice issues. Over the next 2-3 years, CfJJ will work on 2 primary issues: reducing racial disparities in the juvenile justice system and enhancing community-based services and opportunities to reduce the current over-reliance on confinement. In addition to collecting data and sharing information with the public, CfJJ will advocate for policies and practices that will address these critical issues, as well as to continue to respond, particularly as a catalyst and convenor, to critical needs and opportunities in the juvenile justice system as they emerge.
